The Maricopa Education Foundation board of directors is a team of 7 dedicated individuals who serve as an advisory and decision-making entity in regard to the actions of the foundation. Officers are selected by the collective will of the board, as well as committee chair positions and other roles as needed.

Jeff Kramarcyzk
President
Jeff Kramarczyk is a resident of Maricopa with a wife who is a local business owner and three children who have attended school in the Maricopa Unified School District since kindergarten. Jeff is a firm believer in actively participating in his community, devoting his volunteer time to public education. His motivation for working with the Maricopa Education Foundation is to advance public education in Maricopa by removing the budgetary barriers that prevent educators in Arizona from adopting new programs that complement and enhance the current curriculum. Jeff has been a member of the Foundation for 13 years serving as the Chair of the Grant Committee, Foundation Vice President and President.
Judy Thomas
Secretary
Judy Thomas is a retired teacher after 42 years. She has been a Maricopa resident for 10 years with a son who lives in Tucson. She has worked on district budget committees and has been on school accrediting committees, bringing that knowledge to the Maricopa Education Foundation. Judy is a firm believer in the fact that teachers need support to acquire materials that support their curriculum and is happy to be a part of that process. Judy has been a member of the Foundation for over 10 years serving on the Grant and Events Committees and serves as the Foundation Secretary.
Tom Beckett
Treasurer
Tom Beckett, Director of Human Resources for Maricopa Unified School District is married to Zoyla and has four daughters Ashley, Mechelle, Claire and Elizabeth and seven grandchildren. After nearly 40 years in education, he still finds great joy in the profession. The Foundation’s work is mission-critical to supporting MUSD teachers and by extension the success of our community’s families. The Foundation’s commitment and vision are consistent with the priorities of the Maricopa Unified School District and he is proud to serve with a group of dedicated advocates for educational excellence. Tom has been a member of the Foundation for 15 years serving in many of the Foundation committees and as Foundation Treasurer.
Rick Abel
General Member
Rick Abel, a 45 year educator is currently serving as a Social StudiesTeacher at Maricopa High School. He has also served as a principal at Santa Rosa Elementary and Maricopa Wells Middle School in Maricopa. A fifteen year Maricopa resident, he has one daughter who attended grades 1-12 in the Maricopa Unified School District. His motivation for working with the Maricopa Education Foundation is rooted in his belief that in order to provide students with more educational opportunities, schools must receive additional financial support, which is the mission of the Foundation. Rick is one of the three original founding members of the Maricopa Education Foundation and serves as the Chair of the Membership Committee.
Joyce Hollis
General Member
Joyce Hollis, a retired educator of 30 years, has been a resident of Maricopa since 2004. Her motivation for working with the Maricopa Education Foundation is based on her understanding of the challenges facing school districts today and the ultimate importance of a foundation like this being there to support students and teachers. Joyce has been a member of the Foundation for 13 years serving on the Grant and Events Committees, as well as Foundation President and Secretary.
